Lotto is the primary lottery draw in the UK. Facilitated by the National Lottery, a drawn occurs every Saturday and Wednesday at 8:30pm. To win Lotto, you must pick 6 numbers between 1 and 59. Prior to 2002 Lotto was called “The National Lottery”, but with the growing popularity of additional games such as Thunder Ball and Euro Millions it was rebranded to be simply “Lotto”.

During a draw 6 numbers are drawn and an additional “Bonus Number” which only affects players who have matched 5 numbers. If you match all six numbers, you win an equal share of the jackpot prize. Lotto has six prize tiers, to win a prize, you must match at least 2 of the 6 numbers drawn. Prizes increase as you match more numbers on a draw.

Lotto is the most popular Lottery game in the United Kingdom, with around 15 to 45 million ticket sold per draw. If no player matches all six numbers, the prize is added to that of the next draw, this jackpot rollover can occur a maximum of 4 times. If no player matches 6 numbers on the fourth rollover, the prize is shared between the players who matched 5 numbers and the bonus ball.
